SOCOM Engages Aeon for $13.8M Production of Shoulder-Fired Zeus Missile System

US Special Operations Command has selected Aeon Industrial to produce a limited run of a new shoulder-fired version of the Zeus missile system. This $13.8 million low-rate initial production deal will see the delivery of fewer than 100 units over the next year, designed for use in confined urban environments.
The Zeus system, weighing around 20 pounds and measuring 30 inches in length, aims to provide a modern alternative to older unguided weapons. Aeon CEO Naweed Tahmas emphasized the importance of precision, modularity, and availability based on direct feedback from warfighters, marking a significant shift from traditional systems like the M72 LAW.
Aeon is advancing the shoulder-fired Zeus configuration into production, with ongoing testing and evaluations planned to ensure it meets special operations requirements. The company has also received contracts for integrating the weapon onto unmanned vessels and counter-drone applications, indicating a broader potential for the Zeus system in multi-domain operations.
