120ft Unveils Plan for Humanoid-Operated Microfactories in Shipping Containers

Swedish startup 120ft has launched with a vision to create robotic assembly lines within three shipping containers. The company has secured €576,000 from 22 angel investors to develop these microfactories, which will be operated by humanoid robots. Each container serves a distinct purpose: one for preparing components, another for assembly, and the last for inspection and packaging.
This innovative approach allows brands to access assembly capacity without the need to invest in robots or manage a factory. By offering production runs starting at 100 units, 120ft aims to alleviate the financial burden on smaller brands that struggle with large production orders. The company plans to own and operate these facilities, sharing robots among clients and charging for completed products.
Looking ahead, 120ft is targeting sectors such as small appliances and consumer electronics. The integration of local assembly is expected to streamline production processes, although components may still be sourced internationally. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
