EVENT OVERVIEW

The Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) will hold its 2027 annual meeting June 23–27, 2027 at the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola in Rome's EUR district, according to a banner published on the society's website. The banner states that registration will open on November 15, 2026, and lists Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, iDea Group International and Veritas Association Management alongside the society. A companion travel site, srsrome2027.com, run by iDea Group, offers hotel, transfer and leisure packages for attendees. The choice of Rome continues the society's practice of rotating host cities, which took the 2025 meeting to Strasbourg, France. It also moves the meeting into June, earlier than the July dates of the past two editions.

The SRS meeting brings together surgeons, engineers, hospital leaders and companies working on surgical robotics and digital surgery. The 2026 meeting, held July 23–26 in the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida, was the society's largest to date, with 3,500 attendees and more than 800 faculty from 70 countries, according to SRS. Its program combined four plenary sessions, covering advanced and novel robotic surgical systems, digital surgery and the future of surgery, with 11 specialty programs. These included telesurgery, surgical AI, urology, uro-oncology, focal therapy, allied health, hospital administration, regulatory and military sessions, an investor session and a New Innovations Showcase and Competition. Medical device companies also used the meeting for clinical presentations. The 2027 program has not yet been published.
