Robotiq Introduces the 2FC Physical AI Gripper with Tactile Sensing
- Published
Robotiq has unveiled the 2FC physical AI gripper, an adaptive gripper equipped with tactile sensing and embedded intelligence. This innovative product enables robots to learn from physical interactions, enhancing their reliability in production environments. Pre-orders for the 2FC are now open, with shipping scheduled for Q1 2027.
The significance of the 2FC lies in its ability to capture valuable contact data that most robots currently miss, such as pressure and slip. While tactile sensing is not a new concept, the challenge has been transforming raw sensor data into actionable insights. The 2FC addresses this issue by synchronizing and automatically labeling contact-rich data for training, allowing robots to respond effectively to tactile feedback.
Looking ahead, Robotiq plans to showcase the 2FC in a launch webinar on October 28, 2026. The gripper builds on the success of the 2F adaptive gripper, which has over 30,000 units deployed globally. Existing users can upgrade their current grippers with new tactile sensors and the AI Hub, facilitating the development of physical AI without needing to replace their existing equipment.
