Beijing Tashan Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2017 by a team with roots at Tsinghua University and Beihang University, designs AI tactile-sensing chips and tactile sensor modules for robot hands, manipulators, and industrial equipment. Chairman Sun Tengchen and CEO Ma Yang lead the company, which began chip-level research in 2019 and in 2022 introduced what it describes as the world's first mixed-signal AI tactile sensing chip. That work led to the TS3F605AQ tactile chip, built around a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 core running up to 64 MHz with a 24-bit sigma-delta capacitance-to-digital converter offering up to 32 input channels, operating voltage of 2.4V-5.5V, and I2C/SPI/UART interfaces for integration into robot end-effectors. The company later launched the Emerald chip E10A, which it markets as the world's first dynamic tactile sensing chip and the first to convert tactile signals directly into pulse signals via an ASC architecture.

Tashan's flagship sensor product is the TS-F fingertip tactile sensor, which the company states achieves a force resolution of up to 0.01N, can distinguish more than 30 different material types through non-contact sensing at distances up to roughly 1 cm, and supports three-dimensional force perception intended to let robotic hands perform delicate tasks such as grasping tofu, eggs, or potato chips without crushing them. The product line extends to the TS-E robotic-hand tactile sensor, the TS-ECHO tactile sensing fingerstall used to capture human grasping and force data for training data collection, and the TS-V/TS-VT vision-tactile fusion training platforms that combine visual and tactile multimodal sensing so that robots can achieve stable grasping of arbitrary objects in complex, cluttered environments. Tashan has also developed a VTLA (vision-tactile-language-action) model for task decomposition and coordinated robot execution, and reports task success rates above 90 percent and object-grasping success rates above 99 percent in specific deployment scenarios such as hotel delivery robots and self-service laundry rooms.

The company has been recognized as a national-level "little giant" (specialized-and-sophisticated) enterprise in China and has partnered with Tsinghua University and delivery-robot maker Yunji Technology on tactile-sensing integration. In July 2026 Tashan closed a Series B round worth several hundred million RMB with new investors including Joyson Electronics, Taiping Innovation, AUX, Pengling Corporation, LHCP, and Hongshan Capital, alongside continued participation from earlier backers Doshion Technology and Binfu Capital; the company reported 2024 revenue exceeding RMB 100 million, with on-hand orders as of May 2025 equal to roughly four times its full-year 2025 revenue target. Beyond humanoid and industrial robot hands, Tashan applies its tactile sensing technology to automotive smart surfaces and hands-off-wheel detection, home-appliance liquid-level and presence sensing, and consumer-electronics non-contact switches.
