Generative Bionics has announced plans to construct a 5,000-square-meter humanoid robot training hub in Italy, utilizing AMD AI infrastructure. This facility will be the first of three proposed sites in a Physical AI Data Factory network, with operations expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The significance of this initiative lies in its innovative approach to preparing humanoid robots for real-world applications. By integrating real industrial tasks with digital-twin simulations, the GENE.01 humanoids will be trained in environments that mimic actual customer settings. This method aims to enhance the robots' performance through continuous data collection and model improvement.
Looking ahead, the training hub will enable Generative Bionics to refine its humanoid robots through a real-to-sim-to-real cycle, which includes validating perception, control, and task execution. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
