Ocado Secures Final Warehouse Lease at Stoke Central for 15 Years

Ocado has finalized a 15-year lease for the last available unit, C55, at Indurent's Stoke Central warehousing park, which spans over 55,000 sq ft. This marks the full occupancy of the 530,000 sq ft industrial and logistics space, part of the 300-acre Festival Park development in Stoke-on-Trent, completed in two phases from 2020 to 2023.

The significance of this lease lies in the growing demand for high-quality industrial spaces in strategic locations. The Stoke Central development offers excellent connectivity to the national motorway network, enhancing Ocado's ability to serve its customers efficiently across the UK. The new unit is designed with sustainability in mind, achieving a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and incorporating rooftop solar PV and EV charging infrastructure for Ocado's electric delivery vehicles.

Looking ahead, Ocado's new facility at Stoke Central is expected to be operational later this year, creating hundreds of new jobs. This development reflects Ocado's commitment to expanding its infrastructure to meet the needs of its growing customer base, as noted by Danny Kennedy, Senior Property Strategy and Development Manager at Ocado Retail. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

The leasing of the final unit at Stoke Central underscores the robust demand for sustainable industrial spaces in the UK. As companies like Ocado expand their logistics capabilities, the focus on high-quality, strategically located facilities becomes increasingly vital. This trend may influence future investments in industrial real estate and logistics infrastructure.
