Flybotix SA is a Swiss robotics company founded in 2019 by Samir Bouabdallah and Alexandre Cherpillod as a spin-off from EPFL, based in the Lausanne area of Switzerland. The company develops drone-based systems for inspecting and digitizing confined industrial spaces.
Its main product, the ASIO X, is a dual-rotor inspection drone built around two large coaxial, tiltable propellers, a layout the company says combines multirotor agility with helicopter-like efficiency to reach flight times of up to 20 minutes. The drone carries an orientable LiDAR sensor, visual-inertial odometry cameras, radar-based stabilization, a 40,000-lumen lighting system and an integrated gas sensor inside a reinforced cage. Flight and sensor data feed into ASIO Explore, a platform for mission planning and inspection reports, while ASIO Connect, a cloud service, adds data management and analytics. Target sectors include energy production, water infrastructure, transportation infrastructure and mining facilities requiring inspection of tanks, pipes and boilers.
Flybotix distributes its systems through a network covering more than 30 countries, including a US partnership with Frontier Precision. In September 2025 the company closed a Series A extension of about 8.5 million euros, led by a technology-focused family office with existing investor Greeneering Invest AG.
