NORD Drivesystems Enhances NORDAC PRO VFD Series with 200 hp Capability

NORD Drivesystems has expanded its NORDAC PRO SK 500P VFD series to include variable frequency drives (VFDs) with power ratings up to 200 hp. This enhancement features multi-protocol Ethernet interfaces, integrated functional safety, and wireless diagnostics, making the drives suitable for a wide range of applications.

The significance of this expansion lies in the increased versatility and connectivity of the NORDAC PRO series, which now includes ten frame sizes and a performance range from 0.33 to 200 hp. The compact design allows for side-by-side installation, optimizing cabinet space and reducing costs, which is crucial for industries such as airport baggage handling and packaging.

Looking ahead, the advanced versions of the NORDAC PRO VFDs, including options for functional safety, will be important for applications requiring high-precision control and strong overload capabilities. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

The expansion of NORD Drivesystems' NORDAC PRO VFD series reflects the growing demand for adaptable and efficient drive solutions in various sectors. As industries increasingly prioritize energy efficiency and compact designs, the introduction of these advanced VFDs positions NORD favorably in the competitive landscape of variable frequency drives.
