The Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines (RISE) could be ready for narrow-body aircraft by the 2030s, with a target of over 20% lower fuel consumption compared to current engines.

This development is significant as it represents a potential breakthrough in aviation efficiency, promising to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 20% when using conventional jet fuel. The open-fan design allows for larger fan blades that enhance thrust generation while minimizing weight, thus improving overall fuel efficiency.
