A battery-powered drone has set a new world endurance record by flying for over eight hours in desert conditions. This achievement was made possible by propulsion components assembled at the Army’s organic industrial base, specifically two brushless direct current motors from Tobyhanna Army Depot. The drone, which flew for 300 miles, surpassed the previous record by 50 minutes during the Game of Drones 26-2 demonstration at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
