Unitree Robotics Shares Drop 53% from Initial Public Offering Highs

Unitree Robotics has experienced a significant decline in its stock price, falling nearly 40% from its debut closing price on August 19, 2026. This drop has erased approximately $20 billion in market value since then and about $35 billion from its peak valuation. The shares closed at 513.93 yuan ($72.10), down 53% from the first-day high of 1,100 yuan.

Despite the decline, Unitree's stock remains over three times higher than its IPO price of 150.80 yuan. The company raised around 6.1 billion yuan ($900 million) during its IPO, with shares soaring 460% on the first trading day. Unitree generated 1.70 billion yuan ($252 million) in revenue in 2025, with humanoid robots contributing significantly to its business.

Looking ahead, Unitree projects first-half revenue for 2026 between 1.052 billion and 1.128 billion yuan, indicating continued growth. However, the stock's decline coincides with increased scrutiny from Chinese regulators regarding humanoid IPO candidates, which may impact future market performance. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

The decline in Unitree Robotics' stock price highlights the volatility often seen in the tech sector, particularly for companies in emerging markets like humanoid robotics. As the company continues to show strong revenue growth, it remains to be seen how regulatory changes will affect its market position and investor confidence moving forward.
