Peacock Streaming Service Implements Price Increases Across All Plans

Peacock has announced a price increase for all its streaming plans, effective August 18 for new and returning subscribers. The ad-supported 'Select' plan will rise from $7.99 to $8.99, while the 'Premium' tier will increase from $10.99 to $12.99, and the ad-free 'Premium Plus' plan will go from $16.99 to $19.99. Current subscribers will see these changes reflected in their next billing cycle after September 17.

This price adjustment is aimed at enhancing the viewer experience and maintaining competitiveness in the streaming market. Peacock has recently introduced new features, including an AI-powered vertical-video feed and live game streaming capabilities. The service has also launched new mystery games and formed a partnership with YouTube Premium to expand its reach.

Looking ahead, Peacock's growth trajectory appears promising, with a reported subscriber base of 48 million, bolstered by major sporting events and popular shows. The company has implemented four price hikes in four years, with the last increase occurring in July 2025. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

The streaming industry continues to see price adjustments as companies like Peacock strive to enhance their offerings and remain competitive. As consumer preferences evolve, the integration of AI technologies and unique content will be crucial for attracting and retaining subscribers. Monitoring Peacock's performance and subscriber growth will be essential for understanding market trends.
