The Humanoid Application Center (HAC) has officially opened at the Mechatronica Innovatie Campus Schiedam (MICS), marking a significant advancement in the development of humanoid robots in the Netherlands. This center aims to assist businesses, educational institutions, and governments in not only demonstrating humanoid robots but also integrating them into daily work processes.
The HAC is the first center in the Netherlands dedicated to the development, testing, and implementation of humanoid robotics applications, focusing on sectors facing labor shortages and physically demanding work, such as industry, logistics, construction, horticulture, healthcare, and facility services. During its opening, various humanoid robots showcased their capabilities in logistics, packaging, and construction tasks, illustrating the transition from experimental models to practical tools for supporting employees.
One of the first organizations to utilize the HAC is Dura Vermeer, which is exploring how humanoid robots can assist in construction tasks.
