San Francisco startup building Eggie, a wheeled humanoid with humanlike hands for household dexterity tasks, backed by Blume Ventures and Micelio.
Tangible (Tangible Robots) is a San Francisco robotics startup developing dexterous humanoid robots for the home, with the tagline 'Building the physical future'. It was co-founded by CEO Bipasha Sen, who left an MIT PhD program to start the company, Shankara N. Vaidyanathan, who leads core robotics and control systems, and Benjamin Soria, who heads mechanical and software engineering. The founders built early prototypes while incubated at Founders, Inc., a hardware-focused San Francisco incubator.
Eggie. The company emerged from stealth in November 2025 with Eggie, introduced in an official video of the robot cleaning up a coffee spill. Eggie is a wheeled humanoid with a rectangular head carrying two front-facing cameras, a white minimalist body and humanlike mechanical hands. Tangible describes three engineering pillars for the robot: dexterity, compliance and whole-body control. The company has said it is concentrating on improving autonomy through real-world training rather than on commercial release, and no ship date has been announced.
Funding. Tangible closed a pre-seed round in late 2024 and a US$3 million seed round in 2025 led by Blume Ventures and Micelio Technology Fund, for about US$4 million raised in total.
