Comau has inaugurated the D-Pack Lab, an advanced automation laboratory at ITS Maker Academy in Bologna. This Model Factory aims to prepare students for real-world manufacturing needs by providing a simulated enterprise environment. The initiative is supported by PNRR funding and is part of a collaboration between Comau and ITS Academies, enhancing vocational education.
The D-Pack Lab features a fully interconnected simulated factory, where various operational phases, including design, production, and quality control, are integrated into a continuous information flow. Comau Academy will also provide training for ITS MAKER ACADEMY instructors, ensuring effective skill transfer and educational autonomy. This collaboration emphasizes the importance of technical education in fostering growth for students and local businesses.
Looking ahead, Comau plans to expand its network of educational initiatives, with a new technology center set to open in San Ferdinando (Reggio Calabria). The D-Pack Lab represents a significant step in Comau's commitment to supporting educational institutions and enhancing the workforce's skills in advanced manufacturing environments.
