Ideal Aerosmith Introduces Troublemaker Drone with 864-Mile Range for Versatile Missions

US defense contractor Ideal Aerosmith has launched the Troublemaker, a Group 3 uncrewed aircraft capable of long-range strike, surveillance, and decoy missions. The drone can operate for over 10 hours, cover more than 750 nautical miles, and carry payloads up to 30 pounds, providing military operators with a flexible platform for various missions.
The Troublemaker's design allows it to function as either an expendable one-way attack drone or a recoverable aircraft. This dual capability could help reduce operational costs and enhance mission flexibility, allowing operators to use the same platform for different types of missions. Additionally, the drone can be launched from a catapult or truck, making it suitable for remote operations.
Ideal Aerosmith has already produced 26 Troublemaker drones and is currently in low-rate production. The company aims to increase production capacity to 20 units per week if demand rises. The drone's ability to operate in swarms remains to be fully demonstrated, and while it has a Department of the Navy sponsor, a formal procurement contract has not yet been confirmed.
