ABB Robotics has announced the addition of the 'AI Robot Trainer' to its OmniCore EyeMotion robot vision solution. This tool enables faster learning, implementation, and continuous improvement of AI-driven robot vision applications without requiring expertise in building AI models from scratch.
Designed for system integrators and automation partners, the AI Robot Trainer simplifies the deployment and scaling of AI vision applications across multiple customer sites and production lines. By reducing reliance on AI specialists, it aims to accelerate response times to changes in manufacturing lines and launches, achieving up to a 90% reduction in setup time and a 50% decrease in cycle time, according to ABB.
The AI Robot Trainer and OmniCore EyeMotion will be showcased at the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) from October 12 to 16, 2026, in Shanghai. Demonstrations will illustrate how on-site image information is transformed into actual robot actions, highlighting the potential for physical AI across various industries, from simple 2D pick-and-place tasks to complex 3D bin picking and assembly.
