Xpeng Aims for 1,000 Monthly Iron Humanoid Robots Production by End of 2026

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is ramping up production of its Iron humanoid robot, targeting over 1,000 units monthly by the end of 2026. This increase is in preparation for a global rollout planned for 2027, with initial deployment as sales assistants in China showrooms.

The significance of this move lies in Xpeng's strategy to expand beyond electric vehicles into embodied artificial intelligence. The Iron robot, unveiled in November 2025, showcases advanced mobility and AI capabilities, positioning Xpeng to establish a presence in the humanoid robotics market.

Looking ahead, Xpeng's focus will be on integrating AI and robotics with its existing smart mobility technologies. The company aims to leverage its expertise in autonomous driving while continuing to grow its core EV business. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

Xpeng's initiative to produce humanoid robots reflects a broader trend in the robotics industry where traditional automotive companies are diversifying into AI and robotics. This shift could reshape competitive dynamics as firms leverage existing technologies for new applications, potentially impacting supply chains and market strategies.
