EVENT OVERVIEW

The World Robot Conference (WRC) is an annual robotics event in Beijing organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the World Robot Cooperation Organization, with support from the Beijing Municipal Government and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. It combines policy and technical forums, the World Robot Expo and the World Robot Contest. At the close of the 2026 edition, organizers announced that WRC 2027 will open on August 18, 2027. The end date and venue have not been restated; recent editions ran five days at the Beijing Etrong International Exhibition and Convention Center in Yizhuang.

The 2026 edition, held August 19–23 under the theme 'Human-Machine Symbiosis, Production-Demand Integration', filled more than 60,000 square meters across four halls. Organizers reported 373 exhibiting companies showing more than 3,000 products, including 311 debuts, and 557,000 on-site visits, with more than 10,000 foreign visitors. Humanoid robots, dexterous hands and components such as reducers, joint modules and sensors featured prominently, and themed days separated product launches, procurement, developer sessions and public visits. The World Robot Contest drew more than 17,000 competitors from over 20 countries. The organizers also announced a 2027 Yizhuang humanoid robot half marathon on April 18, 2027.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Three components: high-level forums, the World Robot Expo and the World Robot Contest

  • Asia's largest concentration of humanoid and embodied-AI makers on one show floor, with hundreds of product debuts

  • 2026 theme days for launches, procurement, developers and public visits

  • academic conference on advanced robotics and automation with paper awards

  • paired with Yizhuang events such as the humanoid half marathon (2027 edition on Apr 18, 2027)
