Unitree Robotics, also known as Yushu Technology Co Ltd, launched its initial public offering (IPO) on the Shanghai STAR Market, with shares opening at 1,100 yuan and soaring by 629% in early trading. This remarkable debut underscores China's ambition to lead in the intersection of physical automation and artificial intelligence.
The IPO reflects a significant capital influx, reinforcing Unitree's status in the embodied intelligence sector. Founded by Wang Xingxing, the company has evolved from quadruped robots to becoming a key player in the bipedal market, shipping over 5,500 humanoid robots and 33,000 quadrupeds in 2025, achieving a net profit of 278 million yuan.
Looking ahead, analysts predict increased competition in the domestic market, which may pressure profit margins. Unitree's collaboration with AI startup DeepSeek aims to enhance its humanoid capabilities, although widespread deployment in households remains several years away. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
