Chinese Consumers Embrace UBTech's Humanoid Robots with Over 13,000 Orders

UBTech Robotics, based in Shenzhen, has begun taking orders for its U1 series of humanoid robots, with 13,361 orders recorded by June 30. The robots, designed for emotional interaction, will start deliveries on September 16, 2023. The U1 series includes three models—Lite, Pro, and Ultra—priced between 119,800 yuan and 990,000 yuan.

The introduction of these consumer humanoids marks a significant step for UBTech as it ventures into the household robotics market, which requires navigating unpredictable environments and fostering genuine human interaction. Unlike traditional industrial robots, these humanoids aim to provide companionship rather than perform chores, highlighting a shift in consumer expectations.
