MacArtney Enhances Tunnel Element Positioning for Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link Project

MacArtney has collaborated with Femern Link Contractors to provide an integrated subsea infrastructure solution for the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link project. This initiative involves the precise positioning of 73,500-tonne tunnel elements in a challenging marine environment, with three of the 89 elements successfully immersed so far. The Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, which spans approximately 18 kilometers and reaches depths of up to 40 meters, requires advanced subsea power and connectivity for effective installation. MacArtney's refined system design includes various components such as Retrieval Frames and umbilicals, ensuring reliable monitoring and control during the immersion process. Looking ahead, the project will continue to evolve as more tunnel elements are immersed and connected. MacArtney's ongoing collaboration with FLC is crucial for adapting solutions to meet operational requirements, ensuring the successful completion of this significant infrastructure project.
