On October 21, Utree Technology officially launched the H2-X, a new variant of its H2 series humanoid robot. The robot demonstrated impressive capabilities in a promotional video, showcasing its ability to lift cars and kick in car doors, alongside enhanced martial arts movements and significantly improved battery life. The H2-X can now operate for up to 8 hours, a nearly 170% increase compared to the previous H2 model's 3-hour limit, addressing the challenge of prolonged operational use.
This upgrade allows the H2-X to meet real-world demands for continuous operations, such as all-weather patrols, industrial assistance across multiple shifts, and extended emergency response tasks. Utree positions the H2-X as a protective humanoid robot, targeting applications in security patrols, emergency assistance, industrial inspections, and specialized operations. The robot's ability to perform protective actions in unstructured environments raises questions about its effectiveness in real-life scenarios.
Looking ahead, Utree emphasizes the importance of safe usage and prohibits dangerous modifications, indicating that the H2-X's capabilities exceed those of consumer-grade products. As Utree transitions from performance demonstrations to practical applications, the commercialization of humanoid robots may occur sooner than anticipated, moving beyond mere spectacle to functional utility.
