Steele Solutions has successfully completed a project involving approximately 165,000 square feet of elevated platform structure and over 21,000 square feet of grid structure for a large-scale e-commerce parcel sortation facility in Florida. The facility required multiple elevated platforms to support dense automation and heavy mechanical loads, all while adhering to a compressed construction schedule.
The use of ResinDek® LD flooring with Gray Diamond Seal® ESD coating was crucial in the design of the elevated platforms, as it provides a durable and electrically dissipative surface necessary for the sensitive electronic equipment used in the facility. Steele Solutions' Global Key Account Manager, Ken Shaw, emphasized the flooring's role in preventing electrostatic charges that could adversely affect the technology operating above it.
As the facility is designed specifically for middle-mile parcel sortation rather than traditional warehousing, the layout features multiple platforms at varying elevations. This design maximizes vertical space and requires careful coordination among various trades during construction. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
