EVENT OVERVIEW

ROSCon Global 2027 will take place October 12–14, 2027, in Kraków, Poland. Open Robotics announced the date and city at the close of ROSCon Global 2026 in Toronto, with Katherine Scott writing on the ROS Discourse forum on September 24, 2026: 'See you next October 12th - 14th for ROSCon Global 2027 in Kraków, Poland.' A venue, registration details and the call for proposals have not yet been published. The move brings the global conference back to Europe after Singapore in 2025 and Toronto in 2026; it is separate from regional events such as ROSCon Korea.

ROSCon is the annual developer conference for the Robot Operating System (ROS), the open-source software framework widely used in research, industrial and service robots. The 2026 edition, billed as the fifteenth, followed a three-day format of a workshop day and two days of technical presentations, lightning talks and birds-of-a-feather sessions, with organizers asking presenters to bring robots. Sessions typically cover ROS 2 releases, Gazebo simulation, navigation, manipulation, hardware acceleration and deployment of ROS in commercial products, and recordings are published afterward. ROSCon 2025 in Singapore released recordings of about 60 talks and sessions. Open Robotics also runs a diversity scholarship covering registration, lodging and travel.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Workshop day followed by two days of technical talks (2026 format)

  • Talks, lightning talks and birds-of-a-feather sessions on ROS 2, Gazebo and related open-source tools

  • Sponsor exhibition of ROS-based robots, sensors and software

  • Diversity scholarship program

  • First global ROSCon in Poland, returning to Europe after Toronto 2026

RECOMMENDED ATTENDEES

Robotics software engineers and ROS maintainers, researchers and graduate students using ROS 2 and Gazebo, CTOs and engineering leads at robot makers, sensor, compute and simulation vendors building ROS integrations, and technical recruiters. The Kraków location also makes it relevant for Central and Eastern European robotics teams and for Chinese companies shipping ROS-compatible hardware into Europe.
