Optotune (Optotune Switzerland AG) is a Swiss electro-optics company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Dietikon, near Zurich, that develops and manufactures electronically tunable optical components. Its core technology is the focus-tunable liquid lens, inspired by the working principle of the human eye: an elastic polymer membrane filled with optical fluid is deformed by an electromagnetic actuator, changing the lens curvature and focal power within milliseconds and replacing bulky mechanical focusing systems with a compact, fast, shape-changing element.
