iRobot has introduced its latest flagship robot vacuum, the Roomba Max 875, featuring innovative SealForce technology designed to improve carpet cleaning efficiency. This new system enhances suction by creating a better seal around the cleaning head, allowing for deeper dirt extraction from carpets, as confirmed by iRobot's chief engineer, Adam Pope.
The significance of the Roomba Max 875 lies in its advanced capabilities, which include a powerful 35,000 Pa suction and a new vane-type blower motor that moves 20 liters of air per second. This model, priced at $1,199, also includes a self-cleaning mop system with a heated mist feature, showcasing iRobot's commitment to innovation under its new ownership by Picea Robotics.
Looking ahead, iRobot plans to release a midrange version, the Roomba Plus 678 Combo, which incorporates similar technology but with slightly reduced specifications. Both models are compatible with smart home systems like Amazon Alexa and Google Home, and are currently undergoing Matter certification. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
