Elster GmbH Launches Pilot Project for Automated Material Transport with Jungheinrich

Elster GmbH has initiated a pilot project to automate internal material transport at its Lotte site in Germany using its first autonomous mobile robot (AMR), the EAE 212a, from Jungheinrich. This project marks a significant shift from manual transport methods, allowing Elster to explore efficiency gains in material handling.
The implementation of the EAE 212a is designed to streamline operations by automating routine transport tasks, thereby freeing employees for more value-added activities. The AMR operates autonomously, navigating without artificial landmarks and adapting to various floor surfaces while safely avoiding obstacles, which enhances the material flow in a mixed environment.
Looking ahead, Elster plans to evaluate the performance of the AMR in real-world conditions and may expand the fleet based on the pilot's outcomes. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
