Amazon has announced plans to invest more than $100 million in a new advanced manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, aimed at supporting its North American fulfillment and robotics network. The 585,000-square-foot facility is expected to open by 2028 and will create approximately 300 jobs, with average salaries nearing $100,000 annually.
This investment is significant as it expands Amazon's domestic robotics manufacturing capabilities, building on its history of producing over 1 million robots in the U.S. These robots currently assist in delivering 75% of customer orders worldwide. The new facility will incorporate advanced technologies such as robotic welding, automated coating, and AI-powered manufacturing systems, enhancing operational efficiency.
