Company Overview

The Pittsburgh Robotics Network (PRN) is a nonprofit industry association founded in 2018 and headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The organization's mission is to facilitate commercial business growth and economic development opportunities for the Greater Pittsburgh region's robotics, autonomy, and artificial intelligence cluster.

The PRN oversees an ecosystem comprising more than 260 advanced technology companies, including over 130 commercially active robotics, autonomy, and smart systems businesses, and 120+ artificial intelligence and computing companies. The regional deep tech cluster supports more than 11,300 high-impact jobs and has attracted more than $9.8 billion in investment in robotics companies. Pittsburgh's ecosystem spans 18 industry verticals including autonomous transportation, defense, healthcare, agriculture, space, and manufacturing, supported by more than 50 academic and research organizations. Carnegie Mellon University's robotics doctorate program is ranked number one in the world, anchoring the region's research and talent pipeline.

The PRN provides comprehensive support to member companies through multiple service lines: access to capital and business development resources, storytelling and global communications, networking events, business webinars, working forums, mentor networks, community initiatives, recruiting events, and talent development programs. The organization also runs concierge talent services including one-on-one consulting for hiring needs, collective workshops involving universities and community colleges, and the Robotics Talent Advisory Committee (RTAC) that convenes robotics companies to discuss workforce trends.

The PRN operates the Pittsburgh Robotics and AI Discovery Day, an annual flagship event convening global leaders, startups, and researchers. The organization publishes regular ecosystem reports and conducts public sentiment surveys on AI and robotics. Partners include Carnegie Mellon University, the ARM Institute, Innovation Works, J.P. Morgan, and others.

Note: The website roboticscareer.org is associated with the ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) Institute, a complementary but separate organization within Pittsburgh's robotics ecosystem. The PRN's primary web presence is at robopgh.org.
