Swedish maker of AQUA CUTTER remote-controlled hydrodemolition robots, pumps and wastewater systems since 1988; part of Brokk since 2017.
Aquajet Systems AB is a Swedish manufacturer of hydrodemolition equipment, founded in 1988 and based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Hydrodemolition uses ultra-high-pressure water jets to remove deteriorated concrete without damaging the reinforcing steel or causing micro-cracking in the remaining structure, and Aquajet's equipment is used for bridge, road, tunnel and structural concrete repair as well as industrial cleaning. In 2017 Aquajet was acquired by Brokk, the Swedish maker of remote-controlled demolition machines, which kept the existing management team in place; Roger Simonsson is managing director.
The core product line is the AQUA CUTTER range of tracked, remote-controlled hydrodemolition robots. Current models listed by the company are the Aqua Cutter 410A, 410V, 450A, 450V, 710V, 710V XL, 710H and 750V, plus the compact ERGO GO and ERGO Spine GO kits. The Aqua Cutter 710V, for example, is a diesel-powered tracked robot with an extendable tower that works up to 7 m high as standard (20 m with optional top support), weighs 2,350 kg, has an 18 kW engine with an optional hybrid kit for electric operation, and is rated for water pressure up to 3,000 bar (43,500 psi). Aquajet's control systems (Evolution 2.0 for the 410 and 710 series, Evolution 3.0 for the 450 and 750 series) and patented functions such as Infinity Oscillation figure-eight lance movement, the Equal Distance System, Smart Lance Technology and Intelligent Sensing Control automate the lance path and nozzle distance to give a consistent removal depth.
Beyond robots, Aquajet supplies the complete hydrodemolition system. Its high-pressure pump units include the Revojet 270, Aqua Power Pack 270, Aqua Skid 270 and the sound-insulated Ecosilence 3.0, all monitored through the Revo control system; the company has quoted an average noise level of 57.5 dB for Ecosilence. The Aqua Rail System 3.0 is a multi-modular rail set-up that extends hydrodemolition into complex environments, and ECOCLEAR is an automated, continuously monitored on-site treatment system for hydrodemolition wastewater, controlled by the Reco 2.1 system. Aquajet also offers lances, multi-nozzle set-ups, attachments and a smartphone calculator app for planning hydrodemolition jobs.
The company sells worldwide through distribution channels, with a particular focus on the US market, and publishes its website in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish and Swedish. Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair are handled at its service centre in Vetlanda, which also stocks spare and wear parts for current and older models and ships them worldwide.
