China’s Zeekr unveils first family SUV, taking on Tesla
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has officially opened orders for its inaugural sports utility vehicle (SUV), the 7X, as of Friday. This new model marks a significant expansion of Zeekr's electric vehicle lineup, which previously consisted mainly of sedans and multi-purpose vehicles. The 7X is positioned to directly compete with Tesla’s popular Model Y crossover. Set to launch in September, the SUV is available for pre-sale at a starting price of RMB 239,900 (approximately $33,812). This strategic move aims to strengthen Zeekr's presence in the rapidly growing EV market and attract consumers looking for alternatives to established brands.
