Teradyne Establishes New Office in Bengaluru to Support India's Semiconductor Sector

Teradyne, Inc. has opened a new office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to enhance its support for India's semiconductor manufacturing industry. This move signifies Teradyne's long-term commitment to the country's growing electronics sector, particularly as demand surges due to advancements in AI technology.

The establishment of the Bengaluru office aligns with India's ambitions under the India Semiconductor Mission, which aims to boost domestic fabrication and manufacturing capabilities. Greg Smith, Teradyne's president and CEO, emphasized the importance of a local presence to meet the industry's rapid pace and support customers and government partners.

Looking ahead, Teradyne plans to celebrate the office opening on September 15, 2026, and will participate in SEMICON India from September 17-19 in New Delhi. This strategic move is expected to strengthen the semiconductor value chain in India and contribute to the development of a robust manufacturing ecosystem.

Editor's Note

Teradyne's expansion into India reflects a broader trend of global companies investing in local semiconductor capabilities. This move is critical as countries worldwide seek to enhance their manufacturing infrastructure amid increasing demand for semiconductor technology driven by AI and other advanced applications. The establishment of local offices by major players like Teradyne can significantly impact supply chain dynamics and technology adoption in the region.
