Scientists built the hardest AI test ever and the results are surprising

As artificial intelligence systems increasingly excel at traditional assessments, researchers have acknowledged that these benchmarks no longer present adequate challenges. In a significant response, nearly 1,000 experts collaborated to develop Humanity’s Last Exam, a comprehensive 2,500-question assessment designed to cover a wide array of specialized topics. The exam was meticulously crafted to exclude any questions that could be answered by existing AI models. Preliminary results indicate that even the most advanced AI systems face considerable difficulties, highlighting a notable disparity between AI capabilities and the depth of knowledge possessed by true experts in various fields.
