The 2026 Global Digital Trade Innovation Competition's Robot Challenge commenced on September 23 at the Hangzhou International Expo Center, featuring over 100 teams from universities and tech companies. Competitors engaged in 14 events, including bipedal robot racing, humanoid basketball shooting, and autonomous soccer matches.
This event is significant as it showcases advancements in embodied intelligence, with robots tested in various challenging scenarios. The endurance race, in particular, highlighted the robots' battery management and stability over a six-hour period, simulating real-world industrial demands.
Looking ahead, the finals for events such as free fighting, tug-of-war, and humanoid robot racing will take place on September 25. Additionally, interactive experiences like 60-meter human-robot racing and robot dog obstacle courses will be open to the public starting that afternoon.
