Luxonis has unveiled the OAK 4 FFC, a versatile vision computer enabling robot builders to connect up to five cameras with integrated synchronization, stereo depth, and AI processing. This launch, aimed at humanoids, drones, and other robots, simplifies the assembly of perception systems by allowing customizable camera layouts without the need for separate components.
The OAK 4 FFC is designed to serve as the main computer for simpler robots or as a dedicated perception module alongside other computing platforms. Its flexibility in camera placement and processing capabilities can significantly reduce the workload on a robot's main computer, enhancing overall performance and efficiency in perception tasks.
Luxonis plans to make the barebone version of the OAK 4 FFC available by Q1 2027, while the developer kit is currently available. This product aims to provide humanoid developers with a more configurable perception subsystem, reducing the complexity of camera synchronization and calibration processes.
