DJI has introduced the SDR Transmission 2, a wireless video transmission system tailored for professional filmmaking. This system significantly improves interference resistance, image quality, and transmission range, facilitating easier management of multi-camera setups on crowded film sets.
The SDR Transmission 2 can transmit DCI 4K at 60fps with 10-bit HDR and H.265 at up to 50Mbps, while maintaining a low latency of 35ms. With a transmission range of up to 4 kilometers, it is suitable for various filming scenarios, including outdoor productions and FPV drone work.
Notably, each unit can function as either a transmitter or receiver, allowing flexible configurations. The system supports up to eight receivers per transmitter and can accommodate up to five transmitters and 40 receivers in larger productions. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
