Yaskawa Electric Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of AC servo motors, AC drives (inverters), industrial robots and machine controllers headquartered in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. Founded in 1915, it is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under securities code 6506 and led by president Hiroshi Ogasawara.
Yaskawa introduced Japan's first all-electric industrial robot under the MOTOMAN brand in 1977 and has since shipped nearly 500,000 MOTOMAN units worldwide. The line covers arc and spot welding, handling, palletizing, painting, wafer transfer, biomedical and collaborative robots; recent models include the MOTOMAN-HC35 collaborative robot, the heavy-payload MOTOMAN-GP215L, GP400L and GP700 handling robots and the MOTOMAN-HD7 and HD8 for hygienic environments. The motion control business supplies AC servo motors and amplifiers, AC drives, motion and machine controllers and CNC systems, and a systems engineering segment delivers factory automation. The i3-Mechatronics concept links these products with digital data management for monitoring and optimizing production cells.
For the fiscal year ended February 2026, Yaskawa reported consolidated revenue of 542.1 billion yen and 12,483 consolidated employees, with capital stock of 30.6 billion yen. Regional operations span the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, and the company holds ISO 14001 certification.
