Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. is the holding company of the Yanmar Group, a privately held Japanese manufacturer of diesel engines, agricultural machinery, compact construction equipment, marine products and energy systems. The business traces its origins to March 1912, when Magokichi Yamaoka founded Yamaoka Hatsudoki Kosakusho (Yamaoka Engine Workshop) in Osaka; the current holding-company structure was established on 1 April 2013. The group is headquartered in the YANMAR FLYING-Y BUILDING at 1-32 Chayamachi, Kita-ku, Osaka. Yanmar Holdings is led by President Takehito Yamaoka, reported consolidated net sales of 1,079.6 billion yen for the fiscal year ended March 2025, and had 26,886 consolidated employees at the end of March 2026.

Yanmar groups its activities into agricultural machinery and facilities, compact equipment, energy systems, industrial engines, large engines, marine products and components. In agriculture it builds tractors, rice transplanters, combine harvesters and related equipment, and it also produces unmanned aerial vehicles used mainly for crop spraying.

Yanmar's robotics activity centres on autonomous farm machinery. It markets its autonomous and assisted-driving machines under the SMARTPILOT name. On 1 October 2018 it launched Auto Tractor and Robot Tractor versions of its YT488A, YT498A, YT4104A and YT5113A tractors in Japan. Both use RTK-GNSS positioning and a dust- and waterproof 10-inch tablet, and offer an Auto Mode, in which the tractor drives, reverses, stops and turns by itself, and a Linear Mode, in which it travels straight unattended while the operator makes the turns. The Robot Tractor adds sensors and safety lights for unmanned operation so that one operator can supervise more than one machine, and owners of existing YT tractors can have the autonomous functions retrofitted at Yanmar facilities.

On 1 February 2019 Yanmar released the YR8D,A auto rice transplanter. It combines RTK-GNSS positioning and tablet control with Linear and Auto modes (the latter including turns) and high-density seedling technology that reduces the number of seedling boxes, the soil and the seedling-management labour required; the first-year sales target was 200 units in Japan. The SMARTPILOT range also includes straight-driving-assist tractors offered with D-GNSS or RTK-GNSS antennas, set up by registering an A point and a B point before automatic steering begins. In May 2026 Yanmar announced the YH1170,A auto-combine harvester, on sale from 1 June 2026, which automates straight travel, corner cutting, turning, cutting-height adjustment, grain-discharge positioning and center-split positioning, runs fully automatically from the second pass onward, and adjusts threshing rotor speed for rice and wheat, corn and soybeans. Yanmar has also demonstrated autonomous agricultural machinery in a joint Thailand-Japan project announced in November 2022.

Yanmar positions SMARTPILOT as a response to labour shortages and the ageing of farm workforces, intended to let less experienced operators carry out accurate field work, and says it plans to make all of its machines with steering wheels capable of autonomous operation.
