"Scalable growing starts here"
Belgian-Dutch greenhouse robotics firm formed in 2021 by Octinion and Priva; its Xenion platform carries Lumion UV-C and Renion spraying units.
Octiva develops autonomous robots for greenhouse horticulture. It was created in 2021 as a joint venture combining the horticultural robotics division of the Belgian company Octinion with the robotic solutions of the Dutch climate-control company Priva, which remains a founding and technology partner. Octiva is led by CEO Tom Coen and in 2025 had about 80 employees, with R&D in Leuven, Belgium, an office in Breda and production in Asten, the Netherlands. A North American branch for Canada and the United States was announced as planned.
Its core product is Xenion, a mobile robotic platform that navigates greenhouses autonomously and comes in different sizes for rail and non-rail setups, including a docking concept introduced in 2024 for modular automation. Implements mounted on the platform include Lumion for UV-C crop treatment, for which the company claims up to 51% less residue, and Renion for autonomous spraying, as well as units for scouting and for spreading beneficial insects. Target crops are strawberries, tomatoes and cucumbers; cucumber grower Reijm Komkommers uses Lumion.
Octiva's partners include Octinion (development), Priva (technology), IUNU (AI and vision), NxtGen, Koppert (beneficials dispensing), Delphy and Fresh Forward (breeding, including strawberry varieties suited to robotics) and Taks Handling Systems as turnkey sales channel; it also worked with Continental from 2022. In May 2025 Octiva acquired Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility, a manufacturer of about 25 years' standing that develops, produces and installs scissor lifts, harvesting trolleys and AGVs for greenhouses and was previously part of Taks Handling Systems; Taks became an official dealer for both Octiva and Berkvens products.
