Multiplex Drone Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian drone manufacturer and service provider based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and a subsidiary of the Multiplex Group of Companies, a group with a long background in agricultural inputs. The company was founded in 2019 to develop drones for agricultural use. Its leadership is Managing Director Mahesh G Shetty, who has more than 25 years of experience in agriculture, and Director Nishchita M Shetty, founder of Multiplex Urban Green India Pvt. Ltd.
In 2020 it worked with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to spray disinfectant by drone during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021 it began offering Drone-as-a-Service (DAAS) spraying across Karnataka and started selling its own spraying drones. In 2022 it was authorised by India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as a Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO). In 2023 it obtained the DGCA Type Certificate for the MD-10H agricultural spraying drone and worked with IFFCO during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. In 2024 it received the DGCA Type Certificate for the MD-10H+ and partnered with UCO RSETI to train 100 women pilots under the Namo Drone Didi scheme.
The product range covers several segments. Agricultural models are the MD-10H+, MD-10HV1 and the medium-class MD-16HV2, which supports spraying, fertiliser spreading and seed dropping; the company lists 5 L, 10 L and 16 L spray-drone classes. Ikshana 2.0 is a mapping and surveillance drone. RAPTOR is a carbon-fibre FPV drone for defence use that offers GPS-denied navigation. Sky Sweeper cleans building facades and solar panels, and Vruksha is designed for reforestation and seed dispersal.
Alongside hardware, Multiplex Drone provides agricultural spraying, seed-bombing, mapping and building or solar panel cleaning services. Its RPTO runs Small and Medium RPC courses, an agricultural drone pilot course, aerial photography, Train-the-Trainer (RPI) and FPV courses. The company says it has deployed more than 2,000 drones, covered about 100,000 acres and worked in more than 84 cities. Its main office is in Mahalakshmi Layout, Bengaluru, and it has a second site at Mallarabanavadi Village (Bangalore 562123).
