Haumiller Engineering Company is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) American manufacturer of custom high-volume assembly and automation machines, serving OEMs and contract manufacturers since 1963. The company traces its origins to Haumiller's Machine Shop, founded by Charles Haumiller in 1942 in Elgin, Illinois, and pioneered aerosol tipper technology in 1959. Based in South Elgin, Illinois, Haumiller designs, builds, validates, and supports turnkey assembly systems for the life sciences, health and beauty, food and beverage, consumer products, and specialized aerosol industries. Its machines achieve production rates ranging from 50 to 1,445 parts per minute, with deep expertise in precise part handling of challenging plastic, metal, and rubber components.
Haumiller's standard aerosol tipping and capping machines operate in over 1,000 plants nationwide and account for nearly 90 percent of the automated aerosol assembly market, and the company has manufactured more than 2,100 custom assembly, tipping, and capping machines to date. Project execution follows the Project Management Institute's five-phased approach, with a structured three-phase testing process that stress-tests each machine function individually, then as an integrated system, and finally across specified part sets for sustained continuous operation. The company emphasizes confidentiality, program management, validation, and qualification, and provides installation by the original machine tester along with ongoing training and support. With over 60 years of experience, Haumiller positions employee ownership as a driver of accountability, quality, and customer-focused delivery.
