EVENT OVERVIEW
The 2027 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering (CASE 2027) will be held August 23–27, 2027 in Linz, Austria. The venue has not been published in the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society listing. CASE is one of the three flagship conferences of IEEE RAS, alongside ICRA and IROS, and follows the 2026 edition in Shenyang, China. Manuel Wimmer is General Chair and Mariagrazia Dotoli is Program Chair. Paper submissions are due March 1, 2027.
CASE focuses on cross-industry, multidisciplinary research in automation. Its topics include Industry 4.0 and cyber-physical production systems, autonomous systems, control and optimization, discrete-event systems, data analytics for manufacturing, and smart cities. Linz is an industrial and manufacturing center in Upper Austria, which gives the 2027 edition a close link to factory automation and production engineering. The conference is smaller than ICRA and IROS: the 2025 edition in Los Angeles drew 815 attendees and authors from more than 50 countries and regions, the second-largest turnout in the conference's history. Registration fees, keynote speakers and workshop details for 2027 had not been published as of late September 2026.
