Brno startup founded in 2022 whose FRAVEBOT Scout robot patrols greenhouse rows 20 hours a day to detect pests and forecast tomato and fruit yields.
FRAVEBOT s.r.o. is a Czech company based in Brno that builds autonomous robots and AI tools for greenhouse growers. It focuses on pest and disease monitoring, yield forecasting and targeted integrated pest management. The company began in 2022 when Vratislav Benes, a robotics and AI specialist with more than 20 years in the automotive sector, partnered with Matej Sklenar, a Wageningen-educated grower with greenhouse cultivation experience. FRAVEBOT is registered with the Regional Court in Brno under file C 131946 (company ID 17904919) at Purkynova 127, Brno.
The main product is the FRAVEBOT Scout, an autonomous robot that drives through crop rows and captures plant images for AI analysis. It runs for 20 continuous hours and then docks for 4 hours at a Conductix 3.0 wireless charging station placed directly in the crop rows, giving 83% uptime; in large facilities it travels to the nearest station. It covers up to 2.5 ha per day when scanning every row, or up to 5 ha per day when scanning every second row. The Scout counts fruit and classifies ripeness, size, shape and quality to forecast yield up to two weeks ahead, and its AI recognizes early pest and disease symptoms and reports their location with real-time alerts. A FRAVE Mite Module, announced for Q2 2026, is designed to release beneficial mites automatically at hotspots identified by the Scout.
FRAVEye is a solar-powered, wireless smart sticky-trap monitor with a 12 MP camera that photographs traps one to four times per day and sends results over a mesh network. It is deployed from 16 units per hectare and is trained to recognize whitefly, thrips, sciarid fly and leaf miner as well as beneficial insects such as Aphidius, Ephedrus and Praon parasitic wasps and Macrolophus pygmaeus. Data from both products is presented in the FRAVE Cloud platform with hotspot maps and trend alerts. The company says targeted IPM based on its data can cut chemical use by up to 98%.
Published case studies cover Farma Rajecek and GreenCoop. Organisations associated with FRAVEBOT include Agro Marysa, Mendel University, Turck, GoodData, Siemens and the NVIDIA Inception program. FRAVEBOT sells internationally through sales staff in Brno and a sales consultant in the Netherlands.
