Gunma Electric Launches Enhanced 'Yobikomi-kun' with New Features and Music

Gunma Electric, based in Midori City, Gunma Prefecture, will release an upgraded version of its promotional audio device 'Yobikomi-kun' on September 17. Priced at 25,080 yen, the new model, 'Motto! Yobikomi-kun' (Model: MC-F08), allows users to play custom audio sources, enabling supermarkets and stores to change background music according to seasons and sales areas.

This new version includes two preloaded tracks, including the well-known 'No.4', and allows for the insertion of a microSD card to prioritize playback from the card. Businesses can now broadcast their original background music or promotional messages across all stores simultaneously. A dedicated BGM download page will be launched on the official website, offering seasonal sounds and remixes for free.

Additionally, the power supply has been upgraded from a direct connection to an AC adapter, allowing for mobile battery use outdoors, although it is not waterproof. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.

Editor's Note

The introduction of the upgraded 'Yobikomi-kun' reflects a growing trend in retail environments where customizable audio experiences enhance customer engagement. As businesses seek innovative ways to attract customers, the ability to tailor in-store music and announcements can significantly impact sales and brand perception.
