UniSwarm is a French hardware company based in Clermont-Ferrand that designs and sells electronic boards for robotics, with a focus on embedded mobile robots. The company is registered as a SASU and was officially created in January 2019, growing out of the association work of the creator of Robotips, an earlier robotics project. A representative product is the UMC1BDS32 motion controller with integrated power stage, which drives one brushless DC, brushed DC or stepper motor (or two DC motors) at 12-48 V nominal supply, delivering 15 A continuous and 32 A peak per output, for motors up to 750 W at 48 V. It communicates over CANopen (CAN and CAN FD) and isolated RS485, and accepts quadrature and dual SSI encoder inputs, with on-board current, back-EMF and temperature sensing. Alongside the boards, UniSwarm provides uDevkit, a development kit, and offers custom board design and firmware development services. The company emphasizes open-source board support packages hosted on GitHub, open communication protocols and re-programmable firmware. RobotShop is listed as an official distributor of its products.
