San Diego maker of the FUSION hybrid AUV/ROV with ROV, AUV and diver-control modes, used by the USMC and coast guards; a General Oceans brand.
Strategic Robotic Systems, Inc. (SRS) designs and builds the FUSION, a compact, battery-powered underwater vehicle that can work as a tethered ROV, an untethered AUV, or a diver propulsion and navigation aid. The company is in San Diego's technology corridor, at 6444 Nancy Ridge Drive. SRS says its development team has decades of vehicle-design experience and thousands of hours of field work, and that it set out to build a next-generation underwater vehicle from a fresh starting point. Since 2021 SRS has been one of the brands of General Oceans, an ocean-technology group listed in Oslo whose other brands include Nortek, Tritech, Reach Robotics and MRV Systems. SRS's quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by DEKRA.

SRS sells into two main sectors. In military and defense, uses include mine countermeasures, special operations forces and underwater surveillance. General Oceans states that the US Marine Corps uses FUSION for explosive ordnance disposal and other amphibious missions. In rescue and recovery, uses include coast guard operations, border control and customs, search and recovery, evidence recovery and dive support. SRS says the US Coast Guard and partner agencies use the vehicle. Sales, training and service outside the US go through a distributor network. RS Aqua, for example, distributes FUSION in the UK and Ireland.
