Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), a leading Chinese foundry, announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2024 on Tuesday. The company reported a revenue of $8.03 billion, marking a 27% increase compared to the previous year. SMIC also achieved a gross margin of 18%. The growth in revenue is attributed to increased demand for semiconductor manufacturing, as the company’s monthly production capacity for 8-inch wafers reached 948,000 units. This performance reflects SMIC's strategic efforts to expand its production capabilities and meet the rising needs of the global semiconductor market.
