Hyundai Motor Group Aims to Transform into a Physical AI Solutions Company

Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its focus beyond traditional car manufacturing to become a leader in physical artificial intelligence. At the San Francisco AI Summit on July 24, Executive Chair Chung Euisun outlined the company's strategy to integrate autonomous vehicles, robotics, and AI-defined factories into its operations.

This shift is significant as the automotive industry transitions toward software-defined vehicles and intelligent machines. Hyundai's approach not only positions it against traditional automakers like Toyota and Volkswagen but also against tech companies in the AI space. The company believes its extensive manufacturing capabilities and supply chain expertise provide a competitive edge in this evolving landscape.

Looking ahead, Hyundai envisions a future where its innovations connect mobility, energy, and urban infrastructure, achieving what it calls “city-level intelligence.” No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
